I'm a sneakers-and-socks girl. If they aren't lace-up, chances are, I'm not wearing them. But I needed something a little dressier than my normal athletic shoes, and in a tan color. Lace-ups in an 11W aren't always easy to find, especially not ones w/ a moderate price range & good reviews. And the cost of these was quite reasonable. Reasonable enough that I was hesitant to think they would work out for me- I've been burned before by many a well-reviewed, mid-priced shoe that works for others, but feels like torture to my particular feet. I'll spend $125.00 to have one pair of well-fitting shoes rather than have five pairs of "cute" $25 shoes that ultimately end up only hurting me.This is a sleek shoe. They look high-end, and I get compliments on them. I have fairly flat feet, an average ankle size & a regular instep, to give you an idea of how you might compare to me. My feet are on the lower edge of the 11W sizing spectrum, in both length & width. While these don't quite feel like regular sneakers to walk in, they feel pretty sturdy. It's not like wearing heels, and even flat dress shoes aren't usually as sturdy as these feel. I don't know that I could walk for miles in them, but for the average day at the office or home, they're just fine. I have to wear them w/ knee-hi's- I don't own really thin socks that would match these.I've experienced no pinching, no arch pain, no ankle rubbing- and trust me, I'm PICKY about shoes. If they sucked in any way, I'd say so. I will advise that they fit on the narrow side of the width range. These have relatively short laces, especially if (like me), you have to wear the laces all the way up to accomodate a slightly-lower instep & smaller heel than your shoe size really is. And the durability of the thin laces may be questionable, too, but for now, they're okay. If you're feet are between sizes, or if you aren't sure on width, I'd REALLY recommend sizing up. It's easy to tighten these up, but not so easy to get breathing room out of them. Also, knee-hi's are not my preference for legwear, but if that's what it takes to wear this shoe, okay. Just don't think you can order your regular size & be able to wear really thick socks w/ these easily, if at all. Overall, I'd recommend the shoe, as they are unique, attractive, comfortable & well-stitched.

The shoes are well made and sharp looking. I was so happy to find and order these. I have been looking for a nice looking lace up for some time. I wear orthotics and slip on shoes tend to make my feet hurt if I wear them all day. I plan on reordering these in the next size up. I normally wear a 8.5B and these definitely run a half size small.
