These are pretty standard for converse, so if you have owned and liked converse shoes before you will like these. Despite the color being called "Navy", they are a light grey color. The shoes do have the elastic near the top of the tongue and can be worn as slip-ons; however, I chose to use the included laces for a more standard look. The included laces are flat, off-white, and work well. As with all converse I've owned, the soles are very thin and flat; I'm considering swapping out the included insoles for some more comfortable/ergonomic ones. I really enjoy the look and style of these shoes, and the comfort is very similar to other converse I have owned (subpar, but bearable).
